The MAPS Education and Outreach committee is hard at work making community connections, seeking professional partnerships, and planning the next 12 months of watershed exploration and education for our members and

future members!

We begin our adult learning series – Deep Dive – with an in-depth exploration of shoreline restoration. We are fortunate to hear from Noah Jansen, Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council’s Restoration Manager. As an environmental scientist and conservationist, Noah is well-versed in assessment, design, and implementation of shoreline restoration solutions. Noah plans to share his visual story of a few shoreline restoration projects. He will also be

available for questions from our members and learning series attendees.

Later this year, December’s adult learning series speakerbrings expertise and advice for those who think that ice is nice. You guessed it! December’s Deep Dive will cover all things ice fishing on Mullett Lake. Dust off your biggest

fish story and join us for what is sure to be a slippery tale of slippery tails!

Springtime 2027 in the watershed will find us wading around with fourth and fifth grade students from Inland Lakes Schools as we partner with their teachers to bring science to life. Stay tuned for our upcoming summer day

camps, also debuting in 2027.
